Communication Skills:


I have always been a passionate and confident communicator, both of the written and spoken word. 

Developing relationships with the media is an important way to harness opportunities for air time and getting important messages out in the public eye and ear.  I have facilitated media coverage in the form of radio, TV, newspaper and magazine articles for various campaigns both writing and appearing myself and enabling others.

I have given a number of public talks, at scientific conferences and in the local community, facilitated workshops and hands on experiential learning sessions, chaired meetings and worked towards fostering stakeholder partnerships as well as mediating conflict resolution issues.

I have designed, developed and maintained a number of websites for various NGO's and government organisations. 

 

A strong web presence is increasingly important in these technological times although I still prefer the printed word it is increasingly common for people to research a topic of interest online.

 

Online blogs and interactive event calendars, booking and enquiry forms are all useful web tools for communication. Mixed media, image, video and sound can be fantastic global networking tools, enabling online learning and distance learning options.

Having run several national awareness campaigns I have managed the production of various promotional materials from hand held magnifying glasses to calendars, pencils, note pads, re-useable shopping bags and the postcard flyers shown here.

 

I have also produced a number of educational hand outs, online 'how to' guides, course manuals, identification guides and workshop hand outs.
